Hear COMMON SAGE's new song "EDIN" with THURSDAY's GEOFF RICKLY and STEVE PEDULLA

A taste of Brooklyn post-hardcore band's upcoming EP

Brooklyn, New York's Common Sage have super-sized their post-hardcore approach through a new collaborative single with Thursday's Geoff Rickly and Steve Pedulla. Taken from the band's upcoming Nostos | Algos EP, their "Edin" has just debuted within a literally eye-bulging video.

Rickly and Pedulla are both on-hand for the black-and-white clip, with everyone jamming out to the wiry, lead-guitar-skronky punk anthem on a stripped-down soundstage. Vocalist-guitarist Julian Rosen goes toe-to-toe with Rickly's uniquely-soaring sound on the chorus, while the propulsive, pop-adjacent track itself arguably teeters towards Thursday's tightly-coiled, A City by the Light Divided period.

Directed by Jesse Korman (Hot Water Music, Armor For Sleep, The Bouncing Souls), the video disrupts its simple, band-in-a-white-room aesthetic with a bevy of features-distorting effects. It's pure nightmare fuel sometimes, giving the whole thing a feel that sits somewhere between Soundgarden's reality-bending "Black Hole Sun" video and the "Big Eyes" app you've fooled around with on your phone.

Nostos | Algos will be Common Sage's first for Equal Vision Records, and it comes out July 24th. The collection was produced, engineered and mixed by Brett Romnes (I Am The Avalanche) and mastered by Mike Kalijian (Cigarettes After Sex, Drug Church). In addition to the Thursday collab, it will feature an as-yet undetailed guest spot from Further Seems Forever's Jason Gleason.

As for Thursday, the New Jersey veterans feature on the cover of Revolver's summer issue, with an interview detailing the emo-hardcore kings' long-awaited return. You can order the issue in our shop over here.
