Ed Sheeran's love of heavy music had already put him in the orbit of Cradle of Filth, Bring Me the Horizon and more, but the red-haired pop star showed his love for Limp Bizkit this weekend by crooning out "Behind Blue Eyes" with Fred Durst at the Pinkpop festival.

The live collab took place during Limp Bizkit's set on Sunday (June 23rd), though Sheeran's appearance wasn't completely out of the blue — he was headlining the Landgraaf, Netherlands, event that night. Regardless, Sheeran hopped out to tackle the Who classic — originally covered by the Bizkit on their 2004 album, Results May Vary — with he and Durst trading lines on the rock ballad.

Following the performance — of which you can see fan-shot footage below — Durst posted a photo on Instagram of the pair, writing: "Fred Sheeran doing the Blue Eyes thing." Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland also shared a pic of him and "some guy" who kept bothering him for a photo.

Of course, onstage cameos are nothing new for Limp Bizkit. Country star, and recent Falling in Reverse collaborator, Jelly Roll had also strolled onstage with the nu-metal rascals earlier this year to also duet "Behind Blue Eyes."

Sheeran has covered other nu-metal songs in the past, having dropped into an acoustic cover of "Break Stuff" as part of a skit on The Tonight Show back in 2015.
