Veteran NYHC outfit Sick of It All have canceled their summer tour plans across Europe so that vocalist Lou Koller can begin treatment for a recent esophageal cancer diagnosis.

The hardcore singer confirmed all this today (June 28th) through the band's social media accounts, posting a video to "set the record straight" around why they pulled out of the trip.

"The reason it is canceled is because they found a tumor in my esophagus that goes into my stomach, and I'll have to be getting treatment all summer," Koller explained. "And of course, full support of the band, as soon as they heard it they were like, 'Forget the tour, just get healthy.'"

Koller continued that he and the rest of the band feel sorry about canceling the tour — which would have comprised a mix of club and festival appearances between July 4th and August 3rd — though he added, "Hopefully we beat this thing and see you at the end of the summer, or maybe the winter."

Koller founded SOIA with his brother, guitarist Pete Koller, in 1986; the band's last album was 2018's Wake the Sleeping Dragon! More recently, the pair recounted the history of the iconic hardcore group in their joint 2020 memoir, The Blood and The Sweat: The Story of Sick of It All's Koller Brothers.
