Hear KID BOOKIE's new rap-rock ballad "Love Me When You're Angry"

Latest 'Songs for the Living // Songs for the Dead' preview

Following Kid Bookie's recent nu-metal-crunched, soul-tortured "Scars" single, the U.K. rap-rock musician and multi-time Corey Taylor collaborator has swung out with a more lovelorn preview of his forthcoming Songs for the Living // Songs for the Dead album. This time around, Kid Bookie's contemplating affairs of the heart with "Love Me When You're Angry."

While still sporting some of the drop-tuned guitar aesthetics of "Scars," Kid Bookie is crooning his way through the new single, mostly. So is guest vocalist Ziey Kizzy. Together, they're both working through their thoughts about the thin line between loving someone and loathing them. And how, sometimes, you can come right back around again.

Of the track, Kid Bookie explains: "In this generation where everything's such a microwavable moment — it has 2 minutes, it's hot, and then you take out, and it's just done — this song is asking to give a little bit of hope, a little bit of something to hold on to. It's about how our heart changes for a person and how we learn how to adapt to each change and the shape of their heart."

You can check out the private dances, neon-glow massages and rock-friendly hooks of Kid Bookie's latest single up above.

As previously reported, Songs for the Living // Songs for the Dead also features collaborations with Good Charlotte's Billy Martin and Skindred's Mikey Demus, as well as producers Tom Mitchener (Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes), Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me the Horizon, Nova Twins) and George Perks (Enter Shikari, Skindred).

It's due out September 13th via Marshall Records and is available for pre-order now.
