Deftones' First Show in 2 Years: See Video, Photos and Setlist

Alt-metal vets' return included new bassist and live debut of numerous songs

Last night (April 14th) at Portland, Oregon's Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Deftones made their highly anticipated return to the stage. The kickoff show of their tour with Gojira and VOWWS marked the alt-metal veterans' first concert since the pandemic, first in support of their latest album, 2020's Ohms, and first following the departure of longtime bassist Sergio Vega.

The headline-making news was the debut of Vega's replacement, Fred Sablan, best known for touring with Marilyn Manson, Chelsea Wolfe and Peter Hooke, as well as for playing in the punk supergroup Heavens Blade alongside members of Rob Zombie's band, Suicide Silence and Youth Code. The show — which included the live premiere of several Ohms cuts (see the full setlist below, courtesy of Setlist.fm) — and stunning visuals by Linda Strawberry and Deftones' own Chino Moreno — also saw the Deftones bringing out an unidentified second guitarist for select songs. The tour continues on Saturday (April 16th) at Seattle's WaMu Theatre — see the itinerary here.
