Underoath Announce First Album in Eight Years, Unleash Ripping New Song "On My Teeth"

Floridians' sixth LP 'Erase Me' set for release April 6th

Ever since their breakup in January 2013, Underoath have been inching towards a suspected comeback, posting cryptic photos and performing a one-off festival set in 2015. Finally, in 2016, Spencer Chamberlain and Aaron Gillespie (the band's lead singer and drummer-slash-vocalist, respectively) confirmed the reunion in an Alternative Press interview, declaring: "the hiatus is off."

Now, at last, Underoath have announced their sixth studio album — the Floridians' first studio effort in eight years — Erase Me. The 11-track follow-up to 2010's Ø (Disambiguation), hits shelves April 6th via Fearless Records. It was written and recorded last summer with producer Matt Squire, who's manned the boards for albums by Panic! at the Disco and 3OH!3, among others. Accompanying the announcement is their first new song in nearly a decade, "On My Teeth."

"We've had success and we've come through a lot of waters," Gillespie says of the road to Erase Me. "There's been 11,000 things we've been through so you would think, almost, rhetorically, 'What do you need now?' All of us are finally in that place in our lives where the only thing we care about is inclusion for everybody — for the world."

"For me, exclusion is the scariest thing in the world," he adds. "I think [with] Underoath coming back now with a new record — which none of us thought was possible — we want people to know that this is your music and you can feel however the fuck you want about it. I just want to prove that we are doing everything in the most honest way we ever have. This is the healthiest we've ever been as a group of people, as musicians, and in our worldview."
