Rapper creates old-school horror meets Nineties-nostalgia visual for "Live Your Fuckin Life" from forthcoming album 'Flagged Channel'

Rap-metal MC Hyro the Hero is about to release his sophomore record, Flagged Channel, on June 29th via RED Music/Sony.

After dropping two new slamming cuts earlier this year — "Bullet" and "Devil in Disguise" (the latter featuring guitar work courtesy of Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer) — the California-via-Houston-based rapper has shared another new track, "Live Your Fuckin Life," the video for which Revolver is premiering today.

Set to Rage Against the Machine–worthy riffs and heavy beats, the anthemic cut showcases Hyro dropping verses that rail against the dangers of the like-for-like digital age — zombification through social media, in particular — themes that he plays out in gruesome fashion in the accompanying visual.

"Pure adrenaline rush to wake the people up," says Hyro of the new track and video, which was directed by Brian Cox of Flarelight Films. "The zombies are coming in this social media generation and 'Live Your Fuckin Life' is a warning to the people that are woke and the people still asleep. This video gives you that old-school horror feel complimented by nostalgic Nineties vibe close-up shots. The message I'm sending definitely comes across."

Flagged Channel is the follow-up to Hyro's 2011 full-length debut, Birth, School, Work, Death, which earned the rapper tons of critical acclaim, and shout-outs from artists including Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, who credited it with being one of his favorite albums of that year.

Check out the video above, pre-order Flagged Channel here, and catch Hyro on tour this fall at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY on 9/28–30 and Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on 10/13.
