See Cave In, Converge, Old Man Gloom Members Remember Caleb Scofield in Moving Doc

Beloved Boston hardcore/metal musician passed away in March

Harmonic Tremors — a new mini-documentary about the recent tribute shows for late Boston hardcore/metal bassist-vocalist Caleb Scofield — is now available on YouTube. The film was shot during rehearsals at Kurt Ballou's GodCity recording studio for the June benefit show in Boston for Scofield's family, and it was streamed during the recent Los Angeles concert of the same ilk. The doc features interviews with all of the bass player's various bandmates from interconnected groups like Converge, Cave In, Old Man Gloom, Isis and Zozobra. Scofield's friends and colleagues discuss the tribute shows as an integral part of their grieving process for their fallen comrade, who appears via archival footage.

"[The shows are] evidence of how music is incredibly powerful, how it shapes peoples' lives, how it brings people together ... You know, it is heartening. It's something that's beautiful that's come out of something that, otherwise, would be pretty hard to bear," says Isis/Sumac frontman Aaron Turner, who played with Scofield in Old Man Gloom. The film culminates in powerful live footage taken from the June concert.
