NASA has chosen Metallica's "Fuel" to soundtrack a new video promoting their November 2024 Artemis II mission.
Artemis II will be the first crewed spacecraft to travel to the Moon, and beyond low Earth orbit, since Apollo 17 launched in 1972. The flight will make a full loop around the Earth before making its way toward the Moon, circling around the Moon and returning to our home planet. The mission is expected to take 10 days.
NASA tweeted a video scored by Metallica's "Fuel" to promote the mission, along with the four-person team that will embark on the journey.
"Give me that which I desire," wrote NASA. "This #InternationalDayofRock, @Metallica is adding "Fuel" to the fire of our #Artemis missions to the Moon."
