Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell Drops Smoldering New Solo Song "Setting Sun"

Another standalone track from DC Comics' 'Dark Days: The Road to Metal' soundtrack

Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell has shared a smoldering new solo track, "Setting Sun." Helmed by Eminem and 21 Pilots producer Mike Elizondo, it's the latest in a line of songs inspired by DC Comics' recent graphic novel Dark Days: The Road To Metal. Marilyn Manson collaborator Tyler Bates and ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Gil Sharone co-authored the cut.

Cantrell joins a bevy of notable metal and rock musicians who've lent songs to the Dark Days soundtrack series: Mastodon's Brann Dailor ("Red Death"), Deftones' Chino Moreno ("Brief Exchange"), the Fever 333's Jason Aalon Butler ("Fact Check"), Sleigh Bells' Alex Krauss ("War Cry") and In This Moment's Maria Brink and Chris Howorth ("The Caling") have also contributed.

Up next for the singer/guitarist is Alice in Chains' new album Rainier Fog, hitting shelves August 24th via BMG. The grunge mainstays have revealed two songs off that effort so far, "So Far Under" and "The One You Know."
