Welcome to TerrorVision! In this feature, our badass friends at Revolver magazine let me fill your minds with the most disturbing filth I feel will make you vomit, rage and squint with disgust, so therefore I created a "Top 10" must-see horror/thriller movies — with somewhat of an "aborted" theme hidden deep in-between!

I hope you dig it and check out our new album, TerrorVision, out now on Century Media Records. OK, filth mongers, go and enjoy the depravity!

A Serbian Film (2010)

This movie was released in 2010 and was directed and produced by Srđan Spasojević, in his feature film debut. Plot focuses on an aging porn star that agrees to participate in an "art film" in order to make a clean break from the business, only to discover that he has been drafted into making a pedophilia- and necrophilia-themed snuff film.

What initially got this movie on my radar was its "underground" hype and everyone was saying it's the most disgusting filth they ever saw. Natural, now I simply had to see it, but it wasn't easy to get back then. You have to find an uncensored version of it (YouTube now has it) and it's only in subtitles! It's a dense and drowning movie, but the story is as fucked-up as it gets once you get into the meat of the film. It's a slow burn, but the pay-off is beyond massive. It makes you feel something and no matter what that feeling is, there are simply too few of movies that can invoke such a visceral effect. If you can watch this without any emotional response, it may be time to get checked for personality disorders my friends.

NOTE: There are two notorious scenes from this movie that are generally the most talked about, but you could easily remove them and have zero negative impact on the film as a whole, so don't let that detract you. Oh yeah, don't watch this with the family or anyone that is easily offended!

Martyrs (2008)

This is a 2008 French psychological horror drama film written and directed by Pascal Laugier. It premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. Two young women who were both victims of abuse as children embark on a bloody quest for revenge only to find themselves plunged into a living hell of depravity.

Damn, I don't really know how to properly convey my true feelings about this movie, but it's absolutely savage! It takes you to places you previously thought didn't exist and leaves you wondering what the fuck is going on. It's a wild one. Do yourself a favor though and watch the original please and not the garbage remake from a few years ago.

Turbo Kid (2015)

This film was directed by RKSS Films, who are all die-hard metal heads from Montreal, Canada and honestly you should pay attention to any movie release from these guys. They know exactly how to portray the Eighties goodness and cheesy gore/humor we all learned to embrace and love, plus they love death metal, so what's not to love right? The story is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland in 1997, where a comic book fan adopts the persona of his favorite hero to save his enthusiastic friend and fight a tyrannical overlord.

This may not be the most brutal film of them all, but the gore is absolutely fabulous and done with a great sense of humor, something which can be very welcome in horror films if you ask me. Support these young filmmakers by checking it out and also check out their most recent film: Summer of 84, where they make Stranger Things look like some grade-school stuff. Absolutely recommended!

Inside (2007)

A French masterpiece co-directed and written by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maurey. It's the first feature film from either director. It's centered around the home invasion and attack of a young pregnant woman (Alysson Paradis) by a mysterious stranger (Béatrice Dalle) who seeks to take the woman's baby straight out of her stomach! The film received generally positive reviews from mainstream critics upon its release and was particularly well received among horror film critics, noting it for being a genuinely scary and brutally violent example of the "New Wave of French Horror"!

Here's where the Aborted references come in droves! A crazy woman is trying to literally cut the baby out of this other woman's stomach, all while she is alive and it's sadistic as it gets. It's innovative, well written and very well acted and executed. Sounds stupid, but it's well worth your time and you will be very satisfied with the end result. It's very rare to find such a gripping, unique story, as everything is so re-hashed time and time again these days.

High Tension (2003)

This 2003 cult-classic set the tone for females to star in a violent-redemption roles flipping the script on their attackers! A beautiful young Frenchwoman, Alex (Maïwenn Le Besco), travels out to the country to visit her family and brings along her friend Marie (Cécile de France). Soon after they get settled in the secluded home, Alex's parents are brutally attacked by a psychotic truck driver (Philippe Nahon), who proceeds to stalk the two women as well. When the killer kidnaps Alex in his truck, Marie hides in the back to try and rescue her, but the bloodshed is far from over.

Just savage as fuck! The female lead is a bad-ass and will stop at nothing to exact revenge! the film starts out super brutal from the start and doesn't let up, make sure to check it out.

Irréversible (2002)

Another French gem, written and directed Gaspar Noé. The movie stands out for its dynamics and employs a plot that unfolds in a "reverse chronology" that follows two men through the streets of Paris, as they seek to avenge a brutally raped girlfriend. Critics called it "A movie so violent and cruel that most people will find it unwatchable!"

Wow, now this movie is fucked up and I mean that in the greatest way possible! It starts in reverse and tells a story that quickly sucks you in and never lets loose. Honestly, I have never seen a movie like this, so it gets an A+ for innovation. It has the most "real" looking rape scene of any movie I've seen. It leaves you uncomfortable, filled with disgust and wondering just what could possibly be next. This one is more of a pure psychological mind-fuck, but that's also "true horror," as sometimes you don't need any gore or savage killing to captivate the audience. It's another slow-burn, but damn it's awesome all around!

Cabin Fever (2002)

This is a 2002 American horror/gore comedy film co-written and directed by Eli Roth (in his directorial debut). A college student vacationing with friends in the mountains, mistakenly shoots a local man with a skin infection while hunting in the woods. Panicking, he abandons the scene and leaves the man for dead. When the man stumbles into a reservoir, he infects the water supply, and it soon infects the group. The friends struggle to stop the contagious, flesh-eating disease while on the run from a group of ornery backwoods locals out for revenge.

Yes, now onto the fun and gore! This movie has it all. Hot chicks, nudity, gore and sheer madness. Eli Roth nailed it perfectly and it sets a tone of fun insanity with tons of excitement and its non-stop entertainment! There's a real piece-of-shit remake out there, so just make sure it's the 2002 version, as the remake is a watered-down piece of garbage and should have never ever been made. This is a "party movie," where you can play it with a bunch of people over and everyone will be laughing and enjoying it. Either way, I've watched it so many times and never get bored of it, so that's the tall-tale sign of awesomeness.

I Spit on Your Grave (1978)

Initially titled as Day of the Woman, proving this film was way ahead of its time, I Spit on Your Grave is a 1978 American rape-and-revenge exploitation horror film written, directed, produced and edited by Meir Zarchi. It tells the story of Jennifer Hills (Camille Keaton), a Manhattan writer whose summer vacation in a lakeside cabin goes tumultuous when a group of four men gang rape and leave her for dead. Hills then plots killing each of them in the worst possible ways as retribution.

This harkens back to High Tension and it's crazy to think the original is 40 years old! The remake is awesome and violent as all hell! There are a ton of movies like this out there, but this one stands out from the pack.

The Seasoning House (2012)

This 2012 release will leave you shocked and appalled on many levels. During the civil war in Yugoslavia, a young girl gets kidnaped by soldiers and sold to a brothel to serve and drug up other young victims as they are abused beyond norm by the military in many ways, often resulting in death, that is, until the girl decides to take matters in her own hands …

Not a very known film but goddamn is it disturbing, the abuse the girls go through and the way the brutality of war is displayed is just gripping and shocking by itself, as the film progresses it turns more into a revenge film which we already have a few mentioned here but the level of realism in this one is truly stomach turning. Check it out at your own peril!

Evil Dead (2013)

This 2013 highly anticipated flick was a "soft reboot" of the classic, original 1981 cult classic! It was directed by Fede Alvarez in his directorial debut, written by Rodo Sayagues and Álvarez and produced by the original film's lead actor, Bruce Campbell, alongside Robert Tapert and the iconic Sam Raimi.

Another one that I was a little apprehensive on seeing, mainly due to my fondness of the originals. However, just 15 minutes into this, I was glued in as this is a gore-fest for the ages! Kill scenes are amazing, lots of intensity and a little campiness to cap it all off. I love this movie and have seen it many times over and it always holds up.
