See KERRY KING play SLAYER songs at solo band's first show

From hell he rose to destroy Chicago

Last night (May 8th), Slayer icon Kerry King played his first-ever show with his new band, and their sold-out set at Reggie's in Chicago looks like it was straight-up hellacious.

With King's upcoming From Hell I Rise album due next Friday (May 17th), the set was understandably marked with many cuts from the upcoming thrash LP, including previously released singles "Residue" and "Idle Hands," all of which naturally got their live debuts.

King had previously described his band as "an extension of Slayer," and so the set also dipped into the guitarist's old songbook courtesy of Slayer no-brainers like "Raining Blood," "Repentless" and "Black Magic." You can see fan-shot footage of all this above and below.

The show was the official live reveal of King's full band, which includes Death Angel screecher Mark Osegueda on the mic, Machine Head and Vio-Lence veteran Phil Demmel on guitar, Hellyeah's Kyle Sanders on bass and Slayer's Paul Bostaph on drums.

King and his group's next show is tonight (May 8th) at Daytona Beach's Welcome to Rockville fest, while the upcoming months have the act crossing over to Europe before King and Co. link up with Lamb of God and Mastodon's "Ashes of the Leviathan" tour. You'll find the rest of King's concert dates here.

King appears on one of the covers of Revolver's new Spring Issue. You can order the magazine here.
