Knocked Loose's long-awaited new album, You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To, is only a few weeks out from release day, and the Kentucky breakdown lords are keeping the anticipation at a fever pitch.

Today (April 23rd), they've dropped another crushing single from the album, a scorching blitzkrieg called "Suffocate" that features a shockingly heavy guest appearance from genre-hopping pop-metal auteur Poppy

Poppy's voice first arrives shaped into her trademark speak-sing whisper, but within a few measures she's shrieking like a banshee over one of Knocked Loose's gnarliest — and weirdest — breakdowns.

"It was so fun because her voice allowed us to expand our palette and do some weird, off-the-wall things that we maybe wouldn't do in another song," guitarist Isaac Hale said in a press release. "We felt that because we had Poppy's voice involved, it allowed us to kind of push the boundaries of what we thought was feasible."
